Royal Academy of Arts, London, 2019

10 June – 12 August 2019

'Peaceful Pacific, final approach, Lima' was selected for the 2019 Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London. The photograph was exhibited in Gallery VII, curated by Anne Desmet RA who explored "urban-focused sustainability".

As part of the 'Above the Clouds' series, a smaller custom-framed format of 'Peaceful Pacific, final approach, Lima' was exhibited at Hamiltons Gallery in 2018. At the Summer Exhibition a full-frame format work was on display as a limited edition of 10; a continuation of the project alongside the book published by Prestel.

"The soft silver and grey image evoke purity, rhythm, order and balance as the huge waves approach the shore uniformly yet differently after covering many thousands of miles across the Pacific Ocean. A moment of peace and tranquillity before the waves crash ashore, their journey ended." Scott Mead.

Having run without hiatus since 1769, the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition is the world's largest open art exhibition in the world. 2019 saw acclaimed British painter Jock McFadyen co-ordinate the 1,200 works on display in every artistic medium, most of them shown for the first time.
