In 2013, 'Waiting' from the 'Looking Back' series, was selected to hang in the Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition.
The photograph was made with a large format 8x10 inch negative and is printed using a photographic process in a size of 4x5 feet. Mead describes the work about the often solitary experience of reflecting and dreaming about life’s journey, and the patience and time necessary to find the right direction.
Waiting was exhibited in Gallery IX, and was included in the 2013 Summer Exhibition Illustrated, a book containing the highlights of the exhibition.
